Tao 4:05 - The View

“Wish I could get up every morning to this view,” said the student, as she looked out of the window into the most amazing landscape that she has ever seen. In the distance, a turquoise blue lake glistened in the sun; the starkness of the high desert landscape was soothed by some green along the lake’s shore.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” asked the Tao, “So what is keeping you from getting up every morning to this view?”

“I dunno,” said the student, “I don’t believe I can live here. I will be bored silly in a few days, I think. There is not much to do, hardly a few people. No road, no cafes, no night life, no television, not even mobile phone.”

“It is none of that,” said the Tao, “What is keeping you from getting up every morning to this view is you.”
