Tao 4:06 - Different

The Tao was looking intently at, what appeared to be, the late afternoon sunlight playing on the surface of water.

“It is beautiful, isn’t it?” said the student, “Love how the light enhances the ripples.”

“I was actually looking at them bamboo sticks,” said the Tao, “It is interesting how they are not cut to the same length. There is clearly a different design choice in there, and there is meaning. The artist, and I will call her so, had something to say. Quite obviously, there is purpose behind the design.”

“And what would that purpose be?” asked the student.

“Sometimes the purpose comes to light only when you cast a different shadow,” said the Tao.
