Tao 5:07 - Colors

“I sometimes wonder,” said the student, “why do we have all these different colors? Are they really necessary? Why not have everything only in yellow? Or in hot pink? Or turquoise? Or even red?”

“Have you ever tried dreaming the world in a single color?” asked the Tao. “It looks rather monotonous.”

“Yes, I did, and I like it,” said the student. “It is far less complex. The whole world that I dreamt the other day was pristine white.”

“And what did you see in your dream?” asked the Tao.

“Nothing, actually, just plain white,” said the Student.

“I dreamt a world where black and white, and colors of the rainbow live side by side,” said the Tao.
